Democratic Lawmakers Ask FCC to Limit Robocalls

A group of 41 Democratic House and Senate members is asking the FCC to limit robocalls and texts to people with federal student loans and other debt owed to or backed by the federal government.
The group is led by Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR).
A provision in the bipartisan budget deal President Obama signed earlier this month would lift restrictions on student loan servicers robocalling borrowers’ cell phones.
